Red Canna 1923 by Georgia O'Keeffe

In high school I had an art project in which I had to create an abstract piece of art from a flower observation. I stumbled upon a very interesting artist while doing research for this project. Georgia O’keeffe was an American artist who painted from the 1920’s all the way up until the 70’s.

She had a very interesting approach to the abstraction of, in particular, flower imagery in which she would paint the flowers as if she was looking at them through a magnifying glass.

I was reminded of her style when I saw Catherine’s composition today
